Search Terms
Every so often I look at the data and stats logs of my website. One of the things I like to look at is which terms people type into search engines that then lead them to my site. Most of them are pretty standard. Searches for ‘Climbing Photos’, ‘Rock Climbing Training’, or ‘Mike Doyle Surfing’. That last one cracks me up. Mike Doyle is a famous old school surfer from Cali, now living in California but searching for him brings up my site sometimes. Also I’ll get searches from some of the kids I used to coach like:
“Jason McColl – Climbing”
And which I happen to know comes from his own house… Sean, Will, Kruk… you guys are guilty as well…
Every so often though you get a completely random search string. Like this
“is size 36 waist 30 inseam fat?”
Which was referring to a post I made about it being hard to find pants with a 30″ inseam and 30″ waist. I’m not sure if this person found the answer they were looking for.
Another one I just saw was:
“resisting the urge to do crack”
Which brought people to a post about climbing at Indian Creek. Again, I’m not quite sure that is what the person was intending to get linked to but it made me laugh.
Moral of the story… careful what you ‘search’ for. The Internet never lies and never forgets.
