Sensoring The Children…
So I just got back from watching “The Watchmen” movie, not a very good movie but I enjoyed “Sin City” and heard it was the same director.
Anyways the movie is pretty gory with a few sex scenes but the gore was definitely more disturbing than the sex scenes, at least to me but apparently not to the family in front of me. The movie is rated ‘R’ and after a few pretty gory scenes I notice this kid sitting just in front of me. He must’ve been no more than seven and here is he watching this movie. The absolute funiest part was that his mom (babysitter, older women, …) would cover his eyes during the sex scenes but not during the gory scenes. Guys getting their arms cut off, cleavers to the forehead with large blood sprays, nuclear explosions ripping skin off people - that was all ok but boobs and man ass was off limits! It was comical to me!
First of all, who would bring a seven year old to a restricted movie. Second, is it really in our culture that sex is more taboo than blood, guts and violence?

INteresting that you bring this up. In alberta there pushing legislature through right now where guardians will not be unable to bring their kids to movies rated pg14 and higher, huge censorship scandal to follow.
Also for watchmen the director is zak DOUCHE snyder who directed 300, he destroyed the most brilliant comic book movie ever written with that movie.
