Skaha Climbing Photo Gallery


I grew up in Kelowna, BC about 1hr north of Skaha and it is still one of my favorite areas. Many weekends have been spent here... The Skaha bluffs are located just southeast of the city of Penticton, with over 700 routes ranging from very easy to 5.13+ (most routes in the 5.10 and 5.11 range) this area is a destination spot for climbers of all abilities.

Sean McColl on Improbability Conquered
Here is the extension to Building a Mystery that I did in the summer of 2000. A hold broke in the Spring of 2001 and it took me a couple of days to figure out a new sequence. The extension is called Improbability Conquered and tentatively rated 5.13+.
The reason for the route name is that Howie Richardson's first guide described the extension (when still a project) as moving over an improbable looking section of rock.
