Climbing in the Bow Valley
Overview:
The Bow Valley is located in the Canadian Rockies with climbing areas spread out from Lake Louise to Calgary. There is tons of Alpine, Ice and Sport climbing to be had, it just depends on the time of year. There is a limitless supply of rock here and I haven't even been into the Ghost Valley which is supposed to be tremendous.

Info:
The closest big city is Calgary, Alberta if you were to fly in. Canmore is located in the heart of the Bow Valley, but there are also some more famous resort town such as Banff and Lake Louise if you are looking for somewhere more exotic to stay.
Canmore used to be a nice small town and it's still cool but has definitely grown. You'll find everything you need in Canmore (groceries, gas, Internet...)
The weather in Canmore changes quickly but the best climbing seasons are usually late July to mid-September. Even during these times it can snow or can sock in with rain for a few days. Plan on taking it easy if you're here and take advantage of the good weather when it comes.
For a climbing guide book I recommend Sport Climbs in the Canadian Rockies. It seems like there are new editions every few years so just grab the latest one and have fun.
Currently I only have photos of two climbing areas; Planet X and Acephale but you have to check out Back of the Lake near Lake Louise. Absolutely stunning fews and super fun climbing. D.E.W. line is one of my favorite 5.11 routes in the world.

Just some quick shots of the upper wall. I didn't have the energy or desire to hang in a harness and get some better photos.
